Vehicle Inspection & Report
All our vehicles are thoroughly inspected prior to sale.
A 100-point check-sheet is completed, covering functional operation of all components and features, together with a full mechanical inspection and report. A copy of this check-sheet is provided to the buyer.
Warranty
Most of our vehicles are available with a comprehensive vehicle warranty supplied through Warranty Assist – one of the best established and most respected vehicle warranty providers.
Many buyers do not want to take out a warranty, and so we don’t include the cost of a warranty within the price of a car. However, for those buyers who prefer the added security and peace-of-mind that a warranty brings, we are happy to make them available at very attractive prices!
The price of the warranty cover available is indicated on the individual car details. There’s no excess, and work can be carried out at any VaT registered garage – so you don’t have to bring your car back to Stroud in the unlikely event of any problem!
Warranty Assist are one of the leading vehicle Warranty providers in the secondhand car market. This is the trade equivalent of their retail “Motor Easy” product, which is highly regarded in the marketplace.
Warranty Assist offer a range of products, together with a range of additional “add-on” features. Warranties are available for durations ranging from 6 months to 24-months. Any claim will be subject to a contributory excess, between £25 and £150. Garage labour rates are reimbursed at an hourly which can be adjusted from £60 per hour up to £200 per hour. We always recommend that the warranty will cover 100% of the parts and labour (unless specifically indicated otherwise), and with a claim limit of the value of the vehicle.
Inevitably, the higher the level of cover, the longer the policy, the lower the excess, or the higher the rate of labour reimbursement covered, the higher the premium. The advert for each car will include a tailored quotation for the highest level of cover available for that car, together with such add-ons, excess, hourly labour rate and length of policy as we would consider appropriate to provide the best balance between cover and value for money. But if your view of that is different to ours, then we can always look to improve or reduce the level of cover, with a commensurate adjustment to the policy cost.

We have full trade insurance and trade registration plates to cover you legally and sensibly during any test drive!
Part Exchange Policy
Reg Barton Cars is proud to offer vehicles for sale at prices well below high street dealer levels. We do not inflate the “screen price” of our cars in order to offer higher trade-in valuations. Accordingly, we will be pleased to offer a fair market trade price for any part exchange vehicles. In this way, your “cost to change” will always be competitive – and you always have the option to sell your current car privately should you so desire.
I’m pleased to consider any vehicle for part exchange, although please note that firm valuations and offers cannot be made without seeing the vehicle.
Please also note that all vehicles proposed for part-exchange will be Experian Data Checked (like HPI) for mileage accuracy, outstanding finance, and accident history – and that I do not buy cars recorded on the Insurance Total Loss database (Cat B/C/D/F etc)
Finance
We are currently applying for registration under the Financial Services Act in order to offer finance packages to purchasers. However, until this is in place, purchasers will need to obtain finance themselves.
